A LITTLE PICK ME UP
CG Integration
For this CG Integration project, I took my own photographs. I gathered a clean plate, twin plate, chosen plate, grey ball, chrome ball, and cube photos. The grey ball is useful for light direction and intensity. The chrome ball is used to create an HDRi, and the cube is used to line up the perspective and camera angle.

Test Comp
Once I acquired my photo set, I was ready to start working in Maya. I used test geometry at first to represent the Starbucks cup I was going to model and texture. I accurately positioned the light and adjusted its intensity to match that of the chosen plate. The HDRi was also placed in to give accurate reflections within the 3D modeled cup. When I began modeling the cup, I went through a few iterations to to match the thickness and curvature of the original. A Bump Map and a Diffuse Map showing the logo and label for the bottom of the cup were created in Photoshop. Different render layers in Maya were used to separate the cg cup, the shadow, and the occlusion. They were composited together in Nuke and color graded to further the integration. I also applied a little chromatic aberration, animated the cup with a cloth sim, and rendered out a final version!
