This green screen process began with green screen footage of a cat walking provided by SCAD professor Garrett Ilardi. The background used is provided by Pexels. A clean plate for the green screen was created to avoid background shadows and areas of differing values. I then created an edge matte, core matte, and a garbage matte to retain the full detailed cat figure. An edge detect was used to allow some of the background light to pass through the finer edge hairs as well. A corner pin node was used to create the shadow, and lastly some color grading was added to further integrate the cat with the background.
