SDGM 560 - Virtual Collaboration with The Mill - Process Blog Week 5
This week, our team decided to switch our time of day from mid-day lighting to more of a sunset/ golden hour. On the right is the background I created in VUE. Working my way up to this version for shot 2, many iterations were made (seen below). The adjustment made were done by using the decay amount parameters of the altitude in the Atmosphere Editor.

Sky Iterations
From VUE, I was able to create the updated background from shot 2, and also a new HDRi by exporting as a panoramic. This HDRi is more accurate to the golden hour setting for the team to use in every shot.

I also began comping all of our test renders of balloons and clouds into Nuke for shots 1-4. Our ending shot shows of the Expedia logo and their mission statement. I researched the RGB values for Expedia's yellow and blue, and applied them to be completely accurate in representing their brand.

An updated visualization can be viewed in the video on the right. The most influential reference our team is focusing on is shown in the image below.

In Nuke I was able to import the .abc files of the animated cameras created in Houdini. Camera projections were used to allow all of the assets brought in to properly flow as the camera moves. The main goal this week was to get everything together to visualize the shots better. Shot 3 may be cut from our sequence, but the continuity still works. I plan to continue color correcting and working on improving the compositing for each shot.
